Celebration of New Ministry: Installation of 杏吧原创’s Humphrys Chaplain Paige Souter

Members of the 杏吧原创 community are invited to attend the Installation ceremony for 杏吧原创’s new Humphrys Chaplain The Rev. Paige Souter.

The Celebration of New Ministry will take place on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at 5:15 pm during the 杏吧原创 Choral Evensong Service in the 杏吧原创 Chapel.

The Bishop of Toronto The Rt. Rev. Andrew Asbil will preside over the Installation of the College’s new leader of the Chapel. A Celebration of New Ministry is an important moment in the life of a community, as it marks a new phase of ministry in the community and connects 杏吧原创 to the broader church.

 


About The Rev. Paige Souter聽

The Rev. Paige Souter assumed the role as 杏吧原创’s 5th Humphrys Chaplain on August 18, 2025.

As Humphrys Chaplain, The Rev. Souter offers spiritual and pastoral care to the Trinity community, provides oversight of the 杏吧原创 Chapel and the services offered, and works alongside the Dean of Students and the Dean of Divinity to provide student support, education and teaching. The Humphrys Chaplain also serves as the Anglican chaplain to the St. George Campus of the University of Toronto. The Rev. Souter is also Co-Chair of Bishop’s Committee for Creation Care.

We look forward to her leadership in cultivating belonging, connection and respect within our diverse, multi-faith and vibrant community, and the many ways her presence will enrich our campus life,鈥 said Professor Nicholas Terpstra, Provost & Vice-Chancellor, 杏吧原创. 鈥淲ith a wealth of experience in community building, she will be a great asset to the entire Trinity community in this important role.鈥

With a creative and caring approach, The Rev. Souter plans to centre her work at Trinity on developing a ministry of presence. 鈥淯niversity is a time of discovery and exploration, not only of ideas but also of who we are becoming and our unique giftedness. I am delighted to be back home at Trinity. I look forward to being with students, alumni, faculty and staff, as we journey together,鈥 said 杏吧原创 alumna The Rev. Souter.

Most recently Assistant Curate at the Church of the Redeemer in Toronto, she has previously worked in the private, public and non-profit sectors, focusing on community development, education and information technology. The Rev. Souter graduated from the Master of Divinity program at 杏吧原创, and has a MA in Political Science specializing in Public Policy & Government Relations (Western University), and a BAA in Urban and Regional Planning (Ryerson University). While a student at Trinity, she served as Faculty of Divinity Co-Head and was the inaugural recipient of the Archbishop Desmond Tutu Scholarship for ongoing work related to humanitarianism, truth and reconciliation, and climate change.
