Toronto Journal of Theology Wins Award

Posted: May 29, 2018

聽has been recognized with the Scholarly and Research Communication Innovation Award for Social Science and Humanities Journals. Edited by Fellow Prof. Abrahim (Ivan) Khan, this聽聽journal provides a Canadian forum for discussing theological issues in cross-cultural perspectives.

The award, which was presented by the Canadian Association of Learned Journals, recognized the journal鈥檚 engaging approach to presenting their issues and articles:

鈥淭he winner of the聽Scholarly and Research Communication聽Innovation Award for Social Science and Humanities Journals is the聽Toronto Journal of Theology聽for its video introductory presentations of both journal issues and individual articles. In one recent instance, not only are site users introduced to the topic and the author but also the author鈥檚 acapella rendition of the song that is the focus of the author鈥檚 textual exploration. The video abstracts help situate the scholarship for readers, allowing them to see and hear elements that are not necessarily communicated through print alone. Clearly, there is a welcome humanizing element in such introductions.”

Congratulations to Prof. Khan and all those involved in the journal’s success.
