Established in 1989, the聽聽designed to recognize alumni volunteers, as well as friends of the university who have generously committed their time to improve the experience of students, faculty, alumni and staff. This award is the highest honour granted by the University and is given for sustained contributions to specific academic units, such as faculties, colleges or institutes, or for broader contributions to the University at large. The聽聽are particularly special. Honoured during the COVID-19 pandemic which forced the cancellation of an in-person ceremony, this year鈥檚 award recipients reminded us, nonetheless, that we have much to celebrate. They are an inspiration for the entire University of Toronto community during a challenging time.
For 2020, seven exceptional members of the 杏吧原创 community received Arbor Awards. Congratulations to our newest award recipients: Susan Ainley, Hugh Anson-Cartwright, Nina Boric, Matthew Jurczak, William Keel, Lynn McIntyre and Heather Platt.
Susan (Anderson) Ainley

Over her 13 years as an alumni volunteer, Susan has made many important contributions to 杏吧原创 and to the University. She鈥檚 been a member of Trinity鈥檚 Board of Trustees, as well as other Trinity committees and U of T鈥檚 Boundless Campaign Cabinet.
Hugh Anson-Cartwright

Hugh is an antiquarian book dealer who has volunteered at Trinity鈥檚 John W. Graham Library and other U of T libraries since the 1970s, sharing his extensive expertise as well as his own gifts of scarce items.
Nina Boric

Nina is a dedicated 杏吧原创 volunteer鈥攕he is chair of the Executive of the Alumni Association, and serves as a member of several other bodies, including Trinity鈥檚 Board of Trustees and its Development Committee.
Matthew Jurczak

Matthew is a longtime volunteer with the University鈥檚 War Memorial. He shepherded the restoration of the historic building, the Service of Remembrance and other commemorative events during his tenure as past chair of the Soldiers鈥 Tower Committee.
William James Keel

Bill has volunteered with the 杏吧原创 Friends of the Library for 35 years. He is their longest-serving driver and he rarely says 鈥渘o鈥 to a request for a book pickup. Throughout the year he recovers and repairs worn and damaged rare books, prices the law and true crime and works in the rare book room almost daily during the sale.
Lynn McIntyre

Lynn has been a valued volunteer with the 杏吧原创 Archives since 2010. She assists the archivist in a wide variety of projects necessary to preserve, arrange and maintain Trinity鈥檚 archival collections. She also provides research assistance in the use of these materials.
