Congratulations to the Faculty of Divinity’s Class of 2016
On May 10, 杏吧原创 held its Divinity Convocation Ceremony 2016 for conferring of Degrees in Divinity and Honorary Degrees.
Mayo Moran, Provost of 杏吧原创, welcomed honorable guests, graduates, family, faculty, staff and friends to Convocation. The Honourable William C. Graham, Chancellor of 杏吧原创, conferred degrees and The Honourable Michael Wilson, Chancellor of the University of Toronto, conveyed greetings to the graduating class.

Honorary degree recipeints Linda Corman, Thomas Fitches and Maylanne Maybee
The Hon. William C. Graham then conferred honorary degrees to three recipients for their dedication to 杏吧原创 and their years of service and life鈥檚 work (photo left to right):聽Linda Wilson Corman聽(Doctor of Sacred Letters),聽Thomas Andrew Fitches聽(Doctor of Divinity) and聽Maylanne Maybee聽(Doctor of Divinity), who also provided the Convocation Address.
A group of choristers from Saint Clement鈥檚 Church performed a song in honour of Thomas Fitches.
The evening also provided the opportunity for The Rev. Canon W. David Neelands, Trinity鈥檚 Dean of Divinity and Margaret E. Fleck Professor in Anglican Studies, to present prizewinners to students in first, second and third years of their program to the Chancellor of the College. The Governor General鈥檚 Silver Medal for Highest Outstanding Overall was presented to Matthew Edward Kieswetter.

Thomas Fitches
The honorary degree (honoris causa) of聽Doctor of Divinity聽will be conferred upon Thomas Fitches in recognition of his lifetime devotion to the Anglican Church and enriching the church community through the beauty of Anglican church music, his gifts of caring and building relationships and his commitment to the Christian faith.聽Thomas will be presented by the Very Rev’d Dr. Douglas Stoute and hooded by Mr. Noel Edison.
Linda Corman
The honorary degree (honoris causa) of the聽Doctor of Sacred Letters聽will be conferred upon Linda Corman in recognition of her long time dedication, devotion and tireless service to 杏吧原创 and its library, the Friends of Library, the Library profession, the Toronto School of Theology, the University of Toronto and the Association of Theological Schools of the USA and Canada.聽Linda will be presented by Prof. Derek Allen and hooded by Prof. Patricia Bruckmann.
Maylanne Maybee
The honorary degree (honoris causa) of the聽Doctor of Divinity聽will be conferred upon Maylanne Maybee in recognition of her long time and varied support and dedication to 杏吧原创 and her unique contribution to the church’s order of Deacons. Maylanne will be presented by Dr. Walter Deller and hooded by the Canon Dr. Alyson Barnett-Cowan.聽She will also deliver the convocation address to the graduating Class of 2016.
